Aria is a small space committed to the development of AGI. Given the rapid technological acceleration seen over the past few decades, we believe that the creation of machine intelligence is inevitable (and coming soon). Such a discovery has the potential to greatly impact humanity, positively or negatively. One can imagine the dangers of mixing this technology with profit motives.

Our research lens is that the emphasis on deep learning and specifically attention-based algorithms in the wake of ChatGPT is a step in the wrong direction. While these techniques are useful and can provide important insights, they likely are not sufficient for reproducing higher-level functions such as reasoning and memory.
